Evo Pueblo
This is the history of a young farmer of the Bolivian plateau that becomes the first
indigenous president of Bolivia. His childhood consists of shepherding ewes in the small
school located in Orinoca where he befriends Reneco and Jaime, as well as his first love
Willma. All of them partake in different stages of each others lives. At the young age of
17 he is transferred to Oruro, mining city in the heat of the Bolivian plateau. In order to
survive he will have to work as a brickmaker, baker, and trompetista in the Imperial
band. The poverty, and continuous droughts in the Moral field force the family Ayma to
migrate towards the cochabambino tropic.
In the Tropical Chapare, Evo will become the biggest coca grower, soon to be delegated and win in the elections for president in 2005 with 540 votes. "Evo Pueblo" depicts the reality of our country, accounting for the common man that inhabits Bolivia through his fights, joys, poverty, exclusion and marginamiento.
Spanish Synopsis:
Es la historia de un niño campesino del altiplano boliviano que llega a ser el primer
presidente indígena de Bolivia. Su niñez como pastor de ovejas, la escuelita en Orinoca donde conoce a sus primeros amigos inseparables Reneco; Jaime y su primer amor Willma, todos ellos son parte de esta etapa de su vida.
Muy joven a los 17 años se traslada a Oruro, ciudad minera en pleno altiplano
boliviano. Para sobrevivir deberá trabajar de ladrillero, panadero, y trompetista en la
banda de música Imperial.
La pobreza, y continuas sequías en el campo obligan a la familia Morales Ayma a
migrar hacia el trópico cochabambino. En el Chapare Tropical, Evo se convertirá en el
máximo dirigente cocalero, para luego ser diputado y ganar en las elecciones para
presidente del 2005 con un 54 % de los votos.
“Evo Pueblo” muestra de cara al mundo la realidad de nuestro país, tomando en cuenta
la vivencia del hombre común que habita Bolivia pasando por sus luchas y alegrías, la
pobreza, exclusión y marginamiento.
